Accepting Submissions March 19th, 2008

Write Act Repertory is accepting submissions for our 2009 Inaugural Play Festival based on the works and/or life of Edgar Allan Poe. Write Act Rep, established in 1998,  has been presenting opportunities for innovative playwriting. The Rep’s on-going mission is to produce and create original scripts developed exclusively for the resident professional artists in the membership.

Submissions: International. We are seeking submission from members and non-members. All selected playwrights will have their plays produced in reading form first at a selection festival. In the next year the most highly rated plays will be mounted professionally at Write Act Repertory under the 99-seat Waiver Agreement in a full fledged play festival called “Friend or Poe.”

Genre: We are open to both dramas, comedies, and to any and all themes. Mini-musicals may be submitted.

Timeline for Deadline: This is an open submission with a deadline of postmarked material being submitted by July 1st, 2008.

Finalist  for the Play Readings will be announce September 2008. Final Selection of Plays for the 2009“Friend or Poe Festival”  will be chosen at a Play Selection Reading - October 2008.

Parking is available on-site at the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church parking lot located one block below with an easy Write Act Rep entrance.  The free ample parking lot is located at Write Act Repertory Theatre  6125 Carlos Ave. Hollywood, CA. 90028

ACCESSIBILITY -  Write Act Repertory is ADA Compliant and Wheelchair Ramp Access is through the Front Entrance only at 6125 Yucca Ave. Hollywood 90028. Also accessible by Taxi and the Hollywood & Vine Metro Subway Red line.
