Joe
McClean (Associate Artistic Director and Dramaturg)
Joe McClean
studied at Southern Utah University (home of the Utah
Shakespearean Festival). He was on a Shakespeare performance
scholarship that lasted a year, and when the money dried up
Joe moved to NYC where he worked as a carpenter for 5 years
while working his way into the NYC theater scene. During
this time he was chosen to study acting at the Royal
National Theater studio program in London England where he
got to study with some of the great names in English
theater. His time in NYC culminated with 2 years of acting
and crewing 4 nationally touring productions. He was a road
manager and actor for The National Theater of the Performing
Arts, and an assistant stage manager/ actor for Theatreworks
USA. His love for movies brought him to LA in 2005 where he
started Red and Tan Productions, an independent film
production company and premiered his first feature film
THAT FALL (Written, produced, and staring McClean) in 06
at Culver Studios and the Fairfax Regency in Beverly Hills.
Red and Tan's most recent project is a short film called
Travesty (written and produced by McClean) which
garnered nominations for Best Dramatic Short Film and Best
Actor in a Short Film. On the side McClean supplements his
income with write-for-hire screenplays, has written 5 of his
own, and his first novel S-Factor (Based on his screenplay
by the same name) is currently being edited for future
publication.
