Project Notes: Write Act Repertory is a membership-based organization whose artist members include Writers, Actors, Directors, Designers and Technical Personnel. Write Act Rep is dedicated to development and production of original plays, lesser known works by established writers, adaptations of classical-themed materials and musicals. Write Act Rep also produces rarely seen works or Los Angeles premieres.

Helpful Skills – Professional Theatre experience is a plus. We will consider other Entertainment experience in related fields.

Write Act Rep. is looking for dynamic committed artists to join our company! We are currently in the process of reforming this company in our recently refurbished theatre space. Get in on the ground floor and make a difference! We are interested in actors, directors, writers and designers and technical stage artists of all kinds. We are a dues paying company - $40 per month - We provide our members with a full repertory season each year as well as workshops, works-in progress, labs and classes as part of the membership benefits.

The 2008-2009 season will include:  Playwrights Lab, 3 Mainstage shows including “12th Night,” Greater Los Angeles Playwrights Submission “Freeway Series” & National Submission “Friend or Poe". 

 

Write Act Repertory Membership Requirements

 

In effect as of October 1, 2003

1) Attendance at monthly Company Meetings*
 
2) Participation in a committees that may be formed throughout the year by the Senior Staff; Publicity & Media, Production, Front-of House Duties, Fundraising, Special Events, and Literary to name a few.
 
3) An average of one workday a month at the theatre* for 4 hours or 12 hours in a 3 month period.
 
4) Front of House support, when not acting in production - Two (2) nights required per production for Mainstage Productions of 6 weeks or more.
a. When not acting in production - One (1) night required per run of a production lasting less than 6 weeks as needed.
 
5) Technical Set up/Break down, when acting in production - Required
Load in and Strike of Shows, and one (1) full 10 hour day work call day for the production usually within the two weeks prior to a production’s tech week on the weekend.
 
6) Communication shall be a requirement to better maintain the professional courtesy and etiquette expected by any professional theatrical production
 
7) Participation in any and all Fundraising Events & Projects as decided by the Senior Staff and the specifics tasks to be accomplished.
 
8) Each member shall pay $40 a month towards the payment of facilities rental.
 
9) Members must provide headshots, cropped resumes and a current professional bio
 
10) Associate Membership - Upon acceptance into the company, a new member will be considered an Associate. Associates shall have a three (3) month trial period after which they will be reviewed and promoted to full company member, or may be asked to leave having not fulfilled their membership requirements. Associates will enjoy equal benefits as regular members. Associates Members may be brought into the company and be required to attend in-house actor workshops to be determined and set-up by the Artistic Team to maintain a certain level of excellence in the acting field.
